Springboard Clinic’s Play Therapy provides a fun and supportive environment where kids and teens with ADHD can improve focus, emotional regulation, communication and social skills.
Struggling with focus, hyperactivity, and emotional regulation can be overwhelming for kids and teens with ADHD. Play therapy offers a supportive space where kids can unwind and have fun while developing important skills like impulse control and managing emotions.
“I’ve seen huge improvements in my son since starting play therapy with Springboard. He struggled to stay focused and had a hard time calming down. Now he’s gained more control of his emotions and seems more confident. He’s happier going to school, and I’m getting positive feedback from the teachers.”

What if we told you your kids could be excited about coming to hang our at our clinic? Therapy might not sound thrilling to kids and teens, but at Springboard Clinic, we make therapy fun experience! Our Play Therapy can be fun for kids, while helping them develop important skills.
Our therapists are trained in various therapies and interventions, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Mindfulness Training (MT), attachment-based interventions, Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), among others. We also offer the following services to best support your needs:
Play therapy uses play to help children express their feelings, solve problems, and learn new skills. Unlike traditional talk therapy, which relies on conversation, play therapy engages kids with ADHD using activities like role-playing, drawing, and games, making it easier for them to work on challenges like focus, self-control, and emotional regulation in a way that feels natural and enjoyable.
By engaging children in activities that require patience or turn-taking, play therapy helps kids develop better impulse control, allowing them to respond more thoughtfully over time.
There are different types of play therapy, and the right one depends on your child’s type of ADHD and personality. Directive play therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Play Therapy are often best for ADHD because they focus on skills like impulse control and managing emotions, while non-directive play lets kids express themselves more freely. Our approach is always tailored to what works best for your child.
Parents help reinforce skills learned in play therapy, stay connected with the therapist, and create a supportive environment at home that helps their child manage ADHD symptoms. Their involvement helps ensure that the benefits of therapy extend beyond the sessions.
