Springboard Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Assessment
Research shows that ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) can occur together. At Springboard, we offer comprehensive evaluations for both ADHD and ASD as part of our ADHD and Pychoeducational assessments with children, teens, and adults. Knowing if ASD is in the picture alongside ADHD allows for a better understanding of your brain ensuring we can be more specific in developing a treatment plan that is right for you.
A Dynamic Approach to Assessing Autism Spectrum Disorder, personally tailored to meet your needs:
01
After Booking your Assessment
Before you or your child meets with the assessment team, there are a few things our team will need to get started. To get to know you better, we will ask you (and someone who knows you well) to fill out some digital forms and questionnaires, and request available supporting documents, such as old report cards, psychological assessments, and any other pertinent medical history if they are available. For those aged 6-17 we will require a referral from your doctor and request a teacher to fill out some of the questionnaires. For those 18+, we only require a referral from your doctor if you choose to do this assessment with medical guidance.
Our Springboard Benchmark or Psychological ADHD Assessment, or our Psychoeducational Assessment can be expanded to include assessing for ASD. If you have already been assessed for or diagnosed with ADHD, you can schedule an Autism Spectrum Disorder Assessment on its own. Our psychologists will review your assessment report to ensure its findings are comprehensive enough to meet our criteria before booking your ASD Assessment appointments.
02
Meeting your Assessment Team
Your Autism Spectrum Disorder Assessment Team includes a psychometrist, a clinical psychologist/psychological associate, and pediatrician (ages 6-17) or psychiatrist (ages 18+) specializing in ADHD, ASD and other mental health concerns. For adults who choose to do the assessment without medical guidance, your assessment team will include a psychometrist and psychologist/psych associate.
During your assessment, you will meet with each member of your assessment team to explore your experience, past and present, and areas of concern to plan the right course of action together.
03
Feedback
After your assessment appointments are completed, you’ll get a break while our team compares findings and shares perspectives to reach a consensus-driven diagnosis and collaborates on a thorough report to guide you on your journey forward.
In your feedback session (typically booked three to four weeks after your last appointment), the Springboard psychologist/psychological associate on your assessment team reviews your or your child’s assessment results with you and discusses next steps.
04
Outcome and Next Steps
A comprehensive assessment report will be provided to you with a tailored treatment plan that includes recommendations about practical strategies for symptom management, medical recommendations and mental health and wellness interventions.
Following your feedback appointment, if you’re interested in working with our coaching and therapy team (and our medical doctors if that’s recommended), we can continue mapping out your path forward and book your initial treatment sessions.
“The Springboard team is very organized, empathetic and professional. I felt well supported before I decided to move forward with an assessment when I had lots of questions, and I felt well supported during the assessment process through to my diagnosis. I highly recommend the Springboard Clinic.”
“I felt heard by my Springboard Assessment team. I appreciated the time they took in getting to know me and my past and present experiences – including looking through my childhood report cards as part of their assessment.”
