Jennifer Wowk is a Registered Social Worker with a Master of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University. Jennifer encourages clients to approach the coaching and counselling process with self-compassion, curiosity and a sense of humour when possible. She is passionate about helping clients understand and harness their strengths and specializes in parent, spouse/partner, family, and individual therapy for adults.
Her areas of focus include ADHD, parenting, mood and anxiety disorders, personality disorders, emotional dysregulation, grief and loss, and life transitions. Jennifer’s approach is grounded in evidence-based modalities, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT). She also incorporates narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy and mindfulness to meet each client’s unique needs. She draws on her artistic background in dance (Honours BFA, York University) to enhance the well-being of her clients. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family, practicing yoga and walking her dog.
