Springboard’s Academic Services team helps students with ADHD and their families develop a customized academic support plan, along with strategies to ensure a positive learning environment at school.
We advise on school and course selection and provide guidance – or, when appropriate, advocate on your behalf – as you engage with teachers and administrators.
Our Academic Services team helps students and their families manage all dimensions of the school journey, including:
- Translating ADHD assessment findings into effective academic supports.
- Investigating formal and informal accommodations, skills-building programs, customized resources and opportunities for enrichment.
- Responding to the new demands of remote learning and other educational changes prompted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Planning for the Identification, Placement and Review Committee (IPRC) process and creating or updating Individual Education Plan (IEP) documentation.
- Exploring and evaluating optimal school environments.
- Preparing for the transition to a new school or entry into college or university.
- Developing a long-term strategy that spans elementary, middle and high school, as well as post-secondary goals.
Springboard’s occupational therapy (OT) specialists bring our unique understanding of ADHD to their support for clients’ diverse OT needs.
We consider sensitivities to sensory and emotional stimuli, along with ways to improve all aspects of daily living, focusing particularly on how we can adjust the physical environment to make performing tasks easier.
Our OT team offers consulting services in short sessions (of one or two hours) and longer-term engagements, depending on each client’s situation.
Senior members of the Springboard Care Team offer telephone consultations to the physicians of current or former Springboard clients.
Drawing on decades of experience in the treatment of ADHD, we share insights on everything from medication options (what to watch for and how to begin administering stimulant drugs) to problem-solving various medical issues in the context of ADHD.
If you’re a physician seeking advice on the treatment of ADHD – or if your family doctor has questions about managing your (or your child’s) care – we’re here to help. By working in concert with physicians, we not only enhance Springboard clients’ experience but help advance ADHD treatment across the wider community.
Springboard works with a diverse range of partners, building and promoting support systems that will help more people with ADHD realize their full potential.
Through our professional development initiatives – aimed at leaders and influencers in schools, workplaces, associations and community organizations – we’re working to increase understanding of ADHD while advancing broader efforts to raise mental health awareness.
We educate individuals and organizations about neurodiversity, brain development, mental health stigma and, most importantly, how to help people with ADHD push past needless barriers and move forward. Our training programs expand participants’ understanding of the latest evidence-based treatment strategies and help them apply those insights in their own professional contexts. Whether presenting a lunch-and-learn in your workplace, a PD-day workshop for your school staff or an information session at your community agency, we’ll design a program that addresses your specific needs while enriching the larger conversation around understanding and treating ADHD.
Springboard’s expanding professional development practice includes a range of corporate education programming, from leadership training webinars to in-person consultations. All are designed to help HR professionals and other decision-makers better manage the needs of employees with ADHD – and bring out their best. We can also provide coaching to individual team members, with services overseen by a Springboard psychologist and eligible for insurance coverage.
