COVID-19 August 2020 - A letter to our community

Dear Springboard Community,

We cannot believe how long it has been since our bustling clinic was full of our wonderful patients and clients. Thank you for continuing to work with us remotely during this time!

We've had a lot of questions from clients about our plans for reopening the clinic and resuming in-person services. With that in mind, we wanted to provide an update to our community regarding next steps as we move through the summer into the fall as we continue to navigate the effects of COVID-19 on Springboard Clinic.

As always, our first priority is the safety of our community, our team and our clients, and we are continuing to monitor public health recommendations closely. Our second major priority is rescheduling assessments that can only take place in person, which were postponed when COVID-19 forced us to close our doors.

As of August, we will be starting to see a few clients for Psychoeducational Assessments that were partially completed online throughout the months of March, April, and May, and now must be completed in-person in a timely manner. Throughout the months of September, October, and November we will be rescheduling Psychoeducational and ADHD/Mental Health Assessments that were fully postponed by Springboard Clinic and must take place in-person at the clinic.

Once our assessment services are caught-up and we have safely supported all of our postponed clients while keeping our overall foot traffic at the clinic to an absolute minimum, we will then start to consider reopening further services. Unfortunately, at this time we are unable to provide a specific timeline for resuming in-person treatment services, and will continue to conduct coaching/therapy and medical appointments remotely (over the phone or email).

Springboard Clinic COVID-19 Protocols:

  • If you are not 100% healthy, please reschedule your appointment: Please do not come to the clinic if you have any possible symptoms related to COVID-19, or if you have travelled to an area affected with COVID-19 or been exposed to anyone with COVID-19-like symptoms over the last 14 days.
  • Wear a mask: We ask that you come wearing a mask that properly fits and is comfortable to wear for a few hours. This mask should cover your chin, nose, and mouth.
  • Wash your hands: You will be greeted by a sanitation station- please take advantage and clean your hands well prior to entering the office.
  • Respect the plexiglass: You will see that we have installed a plexiglass partition at reception and also have equipped our testing areas with a plexiglass barrier. Please respect this boundary and follow the lead of our team members regarding steps for staying safe.
  • Our waiting room is closed: As the communal spaces in the clinic will be closed, we are unable to host our clients' parents/guardians in the waiting room as per our usual practice. Instead, we ask that you please return to the clinic at an agreed-upon time to pick up your child, and leave us a phone number at which you can be reached in the event that you are needed sooner.
  • Sanitize after yourself: Should you need to use the washroom, we do have washrooms onsite, and we ask that you wash your hands for a full 2 minutes and sanitize any areas you touch when you are done.
  • Mind your touchpoints: We will be sanitizing all surfaces, materials, and touch points in between clients. Please keep track of any additional surfaces you come into contact with!
  • We will work alongside you in this: Your clinicians will be wearing masks and you will both have access to gloves, depending on the level of interaction your testing requires. Please feel comfortable and safe to share any concerns or preferences during your time in our clinic. We can customize as we go!

Please stay tuned for more information in the coming months while we continue to work hard to get Springboard as back to "normal" as possible. If you need to reach us or have questions about how you fit into the above plan, please do not call the clinic and instead, email us at: This email address is being protected from spambots. Warm regards,

The Springboard Clinic Team
