To find out more, check out this amazing article written by ADHD and marriage expert Melissa Orlov: Six Signs that ADHD might be Impacting your Marriage.

After you check out the article, let’s say you do recognize some of the signs in your relationship. What now?

Step one: Take some time over the holidays to learn more about ADHD and what it means to you, your partner, and your relationship.

Some ideas:

      • Check out books on ADHD, such as Delivered from Distraction
      • Read ADHD blogs, such as this one
      • Check out Melissa Orlov’s blog about ADHD and marriage
      • Write things out in a journal, on a whiteboard, your hand…wherever
      • Talk it out together

Step two: Starting fresh in the new year, set up support so you can move forward as a couple. Now that you have an idea of what may be happening in your relationship, this is the time to seek help.

Some ideas:

      • Seek out couples counselling (with a professional who understands ADHD!)
      • No official ADHD diagnosis? Before anything, it is very important to get a thorough ADHD assessment
