Don’t try to do it alone: The case for coaching to greatness

ADHD coachingSpringboard was founded with a strong belief in and understanding of the power of coaching. We believe that you are the expert of you, but a coach can offer a second set of eyes, ears, and ideas. A coach can help you cultivate a space to explore your goals with creativity, without judgement, and create a vision for betterness designed by you. A specialized coach can help you develop the tools you need to execute both a sustainable and manageable road map. By opening yourself to a personalized dialogue, you certainly have to be willing to vulnerable, but the wins can help you launch yourself towards your goals. More importantly, it can allow you to be more aware of your wants and needs.

“Good enough” doesn’t have to be your pinnacle, and we recently found a video that does an apt job of explaining how “being great” requires a clear game plan as well as the support of an expert like a coach. Check out this TED talk by Atul Gawande called “Want to get great at something? Get a coach.”

Gawande’s message is inspiring and clear: "It's not how good you are now; it's how good you're going to be that really matters."

If you have taken the opportunity to make new year’s resolutions or envision where you want to go in 2018, don’t feel like you have to do it alone. As described so well in this talk: It may “just” be small things, but it‘s the small things that matter.
