Peter Shankman's Story of his ADHD Diagnosis

In honor of Mental Health Week, we wanted to share the story of Peter Shankman.

Peter is a CEO, author, speaker, and all around impressive guy. Peter is also an individual diagnosed with ADHD. Not only that, he's learned to use his diagnosis to his advantage, rather than a disability. In fact, he's used his strengths and managed his challenges in a way that has led to much of his success!

Getting a diagnosis of any kind can make you feel hopeless and out of control at times. Even tougher, it can be hard to explain to someone why you're struggling. This is especially true when sometimes you can't even explain this to yourself.

But, like Peter Shankman, you too can move forward from a diagnosis in a positive way. Part of this means legitimizing the challenges that come with a diagnosis like ADHD. Yes, managing ADHD symptoms is hard. It can be hard every day. But, the more you understand those challenges, the better. Being optimistic about moving forward includes better understanding of both your strengths and challenges.
